We are dedicated to business strategies that continually improve our use of natural resources, minimize waste, conserve energy and water, and protect air quality. We will continue to implement policies that improve the environment of our buildings in order to positively impact our associates, guests, tenants, and surrounding community. The Bernstein Companies Hotel Division environmental efforts have reduced our total energy consumption by over 20% annually and have curtailed tons of recyclables a year from landfills.

Community Involvement

The Bernstein Companies Hotel Division is committed to fostering quality relationships and enhancing the community in which it operates. Successful ways that the Hotel Division manages this is through their various internship programs. Programs include a summer internship partnership with the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and internship programs for Washington D.C. high school students in accordance with D.C.’s Urban Alliance program and The Landon School. Our interns learn important life-skills such as, communication and organization, and gain valuable experience in the service industry that they can then apply to their daily lives and future careers. Many of these interns use their experience to demonstrate their commitment to the hospitality industry and leverage their time with The Bernstein Companies to get accepted into universities with leading hospitality programs.
